Long Island Couple Drowns In Far Rockaway Late-Night Swim
A couple from Long Island drowned during a late-night swim Tuesday in Far Rockaway, according to police.

FAR ROCKAWAY, QUEENS — A couple from Long Island drowned during a late-night swim Tuesday in Far Rockaway, according to police.
Police found Umarie Chamble, 25, and Keylon Ramsay, 28, unconscious and unresponsive in the water by Beach 9th Street and Seagirt Boulevard about 10:20 p.m.
Emergency responders rushed the couple to St. John's Episcopal Hospital, where they were pronounced dead.

The victims, who shared a home on Norton Street in Inwood, had been drinking during a friend's birthday celebration when they decided to go for a swim, according to the New York Post.
