Man Fatally Struck While Checking Car After NYC Expressway Crash
The 56-year-old victim was transported to New York-Presbyterian Queens Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
QUEENS, NY — A 56-year-old man was fatally struck on Tuesday by another driver after he got out to check his crashed car on a New York City expressway.
The incident happened around 8:50 a.m. near the northbound ramp of the Clearview Expressway, police said.
The man had been driving west when he got into a crash on a ramp to the Long Island Expressway.

When he got out to inspect his car, he was struck an oncoming vehicle, police said.
The man was apparently pinned between the cars, according to an ABC 7 New York report.

The victim was transported to New York-Presbyterian Queens Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
The driver of the other vehicle remained at the scene.
The victim's identity has not been released pending family notification.
No arrests have been made, and an investigation remains ongoing.
