Man Fatally Struck By Two Vehicles In Queens, Police Say
The pedestrian was taken to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center in critical condition. A day later, he succumbed to his injuries and died.

QUEENS, NY — A 62-year-old man was killed after he was struck by a hit-and-run driver and another car ran him over in Queens last week, police said.
Christopher Gayton was attempting to cross the street at Linden Boulevard and 166 Street when he was struck by a black vehicle, operated by an unidentified driver, that was traveling eastbound around 8:45 p.m., police said.
A 49-year-old driver operating a 2024 Ford Edge then ran over Gayton.

The pedestrian was taken to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center in critical condition. A day later, Gayton succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead, police said.
The driver of the Ford remained at the scene and has not been charged.

Police are still searching for the first driver who fled the scene.
There are no arrests at this time, and an investigation remains ongoing by the NYPD Highway District's Collision Investigation Squad.
