Man Tries To Snatch 10-Year-Old Boy On Roosevelt Ave: NYPD

Police on Tuesday arrested the man who grabbed a 10-year-old boy while he was walking with his parents on Roosevelt Avenue on Monday.

WOODSIDE, QUEENS — A man tried to abduct a 10-year-old boy while he was walking with his parents on Roosevelt Avenue on Monday, according to police.

The family was on Roosevelt near 59th Street in Woodside when the man grabbed the child by the arm and tried to pull him into a building, police said. The parents managed to pull their son away.

Police arrested Woodside resident Sang Lee, 76, on Tuesday on charges of acting in a manner injurious to a child and unlawful imprisonment.

But the man's family says the incident was just a misunderstanding: His daughter told PIX11 that he does not speak English and has Alzheimer's or dementia.

Woodside residents told PIX11 they know the man and didn't think he meant any harm.
