Maspeth Park Set To Be Completed By Summer 2023, Work Underway: DOT

The park will offer expanded green space and recreational amenities, including a basketball court, game tables, and a skate plaza.

QUEENS – More than a decade after New York officials determined space for a Maspeth park, the parcel on the Queens side of the new Kosciuszko Bridge is expected to serve as a recreational area by summer 2023.

Transportation officials told Patch that construction is underway for the long-promised park, which is weaved into the reconstruction of the Kosciuszko Bridge between Brooklyn and Queens.

The project replaced the 77-year-old bridge with two new, cable-stayed bridges, the first of which opened on the Queens-bound side in 2017.
