Moped Rider Struck, Killed By Wrong-Way Hit-And-Run Driver, NYPD Says
Police have not released a description of the vehicle involved in the hit-and-run.
QUEENS, NY — A 25-year-old moped rider was fatally struck by a wrong-way hit-and-run driverin Queens, police said Wednesday.
The incident happened on Tuesday at the intersection of 121 Street and 149 Avenue around 10:05 p.m., police said.
The victim, Antonio Smith-Ortiz, was riding his gas-powered 2015 Honda PCX 150 moped east on 149th Ave. when he was struck near 121st St. by an unknown vehicle traveling westbound in the eastbound lane, police said.

The unidentified driver then struck an unoccupied parked 2015 Ford Transit 350 Courier van before fleeing the scene.
Smith-Ortiz was transported to Jamaica Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

No arrests have been made as of Wednesday evening.
