New Beer Hall Opens In Flushing With 24 Drinks On Tap

QUEENS — A new beer hall opened in Flushing last week at Tangram, offering two dozen drinks on tap.
hoi polloi, which means “the common people” in Greek, opened on Thursday in a 5,000-square-foot venue at the shopping mall.
“Over time, I saw the need for a place like hoi polloi where all the different people of New York can come together to mix on the weekends and to celebrate life’s events,” said owner Todd Leong.

The beer hall will also double as a dancing venue, which will include a DJ playing Hip Hop, Latin, Afro, House, Dance, Pop, and RnB on Friday and Saturday nights.
Nineteen of the 24 taps on display will be beer, while the rest serve cocktails with ingredients like yuzu, Sichuan peppercorn oil, and Midori.

Beers include products from breweries such as Ommegang’s Hennepin Farmhouse Saison, Brooklyn Brewery’s Bel Air Sour, and Southern Tier’s 2XMas.
Small plates are also available, and range from $8 to $21, and a pint of beer starts at $8.
