Officials tout fewer cars, cleaner air, and more transit funding, while some Queens lawmakers still argue the toll is mainly a cash grab and say traffic feels just as bad.

2. Three men were arrested after a months-long investigation involving city, state, and federal agencies, who say the operation posed a serious risk to nearby children and the neighborhood.

3. Three Queens neighborhoods among top 10 in NYC expected to have hottest markets in 2026: report (qns.com) — If you’re hunting for a home or rental in Queens, Sunnyside, Ridgewood and Long Island City are projected to be among NYC’s hottest markets in 2026, driven by big jumps in StreetEasy searches. The report highlights Sunnyside’s relative affordability, Ridgewood’s artsy vibe and slight price dips, and Long Island City’s transit-rich, high-cost market with stable condo prices.

4. Far Rockaway man indicted on multiple charges for beating Malba homeowner during illegal street takeover: DA (qns.com) — A Queens grand jury has indicted a Far Rockaway man in connection with a violent late‑night street takeover outside a Malba home that left the homeowner seriously injured. Prosecutors say the suspect joined a group assault after cars performed dangerous stunts, and the NYPD is still seeking additional participants. Residents with information can contact Crime Stoppers and may be eligible for a reward.

5. Man struck by train in Queens as good Samaritans pull him from tracks (nydailynews.com) — A man was critically injured after falling onto the R-train tracks at Northern Blvd. station in Woodside, where a second train struck him as two good Samaritans tried to pull him to safety.
