Perp Snuck Into Queens Con Ed Facility Twice To Steal Wire: NYPD
The thief stole large amounts of copper wire twice while wearing a bright green construction hat, police say.

MASPETH, QUEENS -- A thief disguised in a bright green construction helmet has been sneaking into a Queens Cod Edison facility in broad daylight to steal copper wire, police said.
The perp has stolen copper wire from the Maspeth facility at 57-27 49 St. at least twice, and cops said they're still not sure how he's breaking in.
The first time, on March 17, he snuck into the facility at around 3:40 pm. and stole large amounts of the wire, authorities said. He struck again on April 12, this time stealing 15 sections of 20-foot copper wire from the building at around 9:50 a.m.

The NYPD released surveillance photos of the perp late Thursday night. Police estimate him to be in his late 50s.
