Police Shoot Knife-Wielding Man Who Stabbed His Sister, NYPD Says
Officers shot a man they say stabbed his sister then charged at them with a knife in a Queens apartment, police say.

QUEENS, NY – Police shot a knife-wielding man in a Queens apartment building Tuesday after he allegedly stabbed his sister.
Officers found the woman lying bloodied with a stab wound in her torso after responding to a call about an assault at a Shore Front Parkway apartment, police said.
Police went to the first floor hallway of the apartment where they found the suspect holding a knife, the NYPD said. Officers repeatedly told him to drop the weapon and tried to subdue him three times with a Taser, police said.

The man then allegedly charged police with the knife and an officer shot him in the right leg.
The suspect and his sister were both taken to Jamaica Hospital in stable condition, police said. Cops told NBC New York the woman and her brother got into a fight in their apartment and their mother, who was also inside, kicked them out.

The suspect had just been released from Rikers where he was serving time for assault, according to NBC New York.
