Queens Building To Be Lit Orange For Gender-Biased Violence Awareness
Besides the building in Queens, City Hall, the Bronx County Courthouse, and other buildings will be lit orange on Nov. 28.

QUEENS — Queens Borough Hall will be lit orange on Monday for gender-biased violence awareness in the city, joining other landmarks across the five boroughs.
Besides the building in Kew Gardens, City Hall, the Bronx County Courthouse, 1 World Trade Center and other buildings will be lit orange on Nov. 28 for the annual “16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence” campaign.
“Gender-based violence is abuse that exploits the unequal power in relationships between genders, and can happen anywhere in our city, to anyone, and takes many forms, whether it be verbal, physical, or mental,” said Mayor Eric Adams.

The campaign aims to encourage New Yorkers to learn more about the consequences of gender-based violence, as well as urge lawmakers to take action against gender-based violence.
Last week, a legislative package to establish a housing stability program for survivors of domestic violence was passed.
