Queens Drug Dealer Indicted After Selling to Undercover Officer: DA

A man from Jackson Heights was indicted for drug sale and possession after selling cocaine to an undercover officer, prosecutors said.

QUEENS – A man from Jackson Heights was indicted of drug sale and possession after selling cocaine to an undercover officer, the Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz said Thursday.

Alejandro Rodriguez, 43, was indicted of criminal sale of a controlled substance, drug possession, and possession of a firearm after selling 14 ounces of cocaine to an undercover detective pretending to be a buyer from June 1 through Oct. 5, prosecutors said.

Rodriguez faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted, the district attorney's office said.

On Oct. 19, police searched Rodriguez’s home and found 60 grams of cocaine, a .45 caliber handgun, and 20 rounds of ammunition, Katz said.

Rodriguez was arrested the same day of the search and officers found he was holding 100 grams of cocaine, prosecutors said.
