The fire began in a garage on Beatrice Court and burned through three alarms on an unseasonably warm Thursday morning, fire officials say.

FAR ROCKAWAY, QUEENS — A massive, three-alarm house fire at 3 Beatrice Court on the Far Rockaway peninsula across from JFK Airport caused only one minor injury to a firefighter, FDNY officials said, but sent excessive amounts of smoke billowing through the neighborhood Thursday morning.

"Expect smoke & traffic delays in area," NYC's Emergency Management Department warned around 10:50 a.m. "People nearby avoid smoke, close windows."

The fire broke out in the house's garage around 10:05 a.m., according to the FDNY, and burned for an hour-and-a-half before it was brought under control at 11:35 a.m.
