Queens Gang Member Convicted After Fatally Shooting Rival: Feds
Christopher Acevedo was convicted of fatally shooting a rival who stole a necklace belonging to the opposing gang, prosecutors said.

QUEENS — A 28-year-old Queens gang member was convicted of fatally shooting a rival who stole a necklace belonging to the opposing gang in 2019, prosecutors said.
Christopher Acevedo, the founder of the Jamaica-based "Wood City" gang, faces life in prison after the killing of David Hutchinson on Aug. 26, 2019, at 140th Avenue and Springfield Boulevard, said Breon Peace, United States Attorney for the Eastern District of New York.
Hutchinson was a member of the rival "Snow Gang," which regularly insulted "Wood City" members on social media and vice versa since 2011, Peace said.

Members of the "Snow Gang" stole a gold necklace with the letters "YTB" from a member of the "Wood City" gang while he was at a recording studio in Queens, prosecutors said.
Acevedo and others drove to an area frequented by the rival gang members and followed their vehicle until they reached a deli on 140th Avenue, Peace said.

Acevedo pulled alongside the vehicle and fired a dozen shots, killing Hutcherson, prosecutors said.
