Queens Islamic Center Robbed; Police Searching For Culprit: VIDEO

The thief stole $1,500 from a donation box and an office desk drawer. Do you recognize the suspect in the surveillance video below?

LONG ISLAND CITY, QUEENS — A thief broke into the Islamic Center of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Long Island City on Wednesday and made off with $1,500, according to NYPD.

The individual dressed in white entered the building located on 37-46 Crescent Street through a back door around 9 p.m., police said.

The thief used an unidentified tool to pry open the donation box. He then proceeded to force open an office door and stole more money out of a desk drawer. Approximately $1,500 was removed from the Islamic Center, according to police.

NYPD requires the public's assistance in identifying the thief.
