Queens Man Arrested After Shooting Wife: Police

The victim was transferred to a hospital and is in stable condition.

WOODSIDE, QUEENS — Woodside resident Victor Guzman was arrested after shooting his wife on Sunday evening, police said.

NYPD responded to a call at 48-00 block of 59th Street that came in around 8 p.m. on Sunday to find to a 51-year-old woman shot once in the torso. The 54-year-old shooter had fled the location upon the arrival of the police and was later arrested in the vicinity of 60th Street and Queens Boulevard, police said.

The victim was transported to Elmhurst Hospital and is listed in stable condition, police said.

Guzman was charged with attempted murder, assault, criminal possession of a weapon, reckless endangerment and menacing, according to police.
