Queens Man Attacked Subway Rider With Bottle: NYPD

QUEENS, NY — A 43-year-old Queens man has been arrested and charged for attacking a subway rider with a glass bottle, police said.

The incident happened on Aug. 13 around 9:10 a.m. on a number 5 train near the Grand Concourse and East 138 Street station, police said.

A 57-year-old man was sitting on a southbound 5 train when Ellis Landel approached the victim and struck him in the head with a bottle.

He exited the train at the Grand Concourse and East 138 Street station and fled on foot,

The victim sustained a laceration to the head and was treated on scene by EMS.
