Queens Man Sentenced After Woman's Body Found In Duffel Bag: DA
David Bonola was sentenced to 25 years in prison after pleading guilty to manslaughter after the killing of Orsolya Gaal, prosecutors said.

FOREST HILLS, QUEENS – A Queens man was sentenced to prison after a dead woman was found in a duffel bag in Forest Hills, the Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz announced Wednesday.
David Bonola, 44, was sentenced to 25 years in prison after pleading guilty for manslaughter after the killing of Orsolya Gaal, 51, in her home on April 16, and then leaving her body inside a duffel bag at Forest Park, prosecutors said.
“This was a brutal killing, and no amount of prison time can bring the victim back to her loved ones,” Katz said in a statement. “Today’s sentencing, however, provides a measure of justice and I hope the victim’s family can rest easier knowing that the person responsible was held fully accountable.”

In April, the victim returned to her home at Juno Street about 12:30 a.m. when Bonola, a handyman who had worked on her home on several occasions, entered the residence, prosecutors said.
Gaal and Bonola started arguing, and then Bonola slashed her throat and stabbed her about 50 times, the district attorney’s office said.

A nearby home’s security surveillance caught Bonola using a duffel bag that belonged to Gaal’s son to carry her body about 4:15 am, Katz said.
Gaal’s body was found about 8 a.m on Metropolitan Avenue, near Union Turnpike, at Forest Park, prosecutors said.
Bonola, from South Richmond Hill pleaded guilty on November 2 to one count of manslaughter in the first degree.
