Queens Straphanger Punched During Cell Phone Grab: NYPD
The attacker punched a straphanger in the face during a phone robbery inside a Queens subway station late Sunday, authorities said.

QUEENS, NY - A Queens subway rider was punched in the face during a cell phone robbery inside a subway station Sunday night, authorities said.
The attack took place about 11:30 p.m. inside the Roosevelt Avenue-Jackson Heights subway station, police said.
The 49-year-old male victim was standing on the southbound “E” train platform when he was sucker-punched in the face and saw his cell phone swiped from under his nose, police said.

The attacker fled the subway station shortly after, police said.
Medics rushed the victim to NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst where he was listed in stable condition and treated for facial swelling, police said.
