Queens Teacher Accused Of Hitting 8-Year-Old Student Arrested: NYPD

QUEENS — A Queens school teacher stands accused of hitting an 8-year-old student in the face, police said.

Lashawn Leak, 34, was arrested on assault charges stemming from an encounter with a student at the David N. Dinkins School in Jamaica on March 1, the NYPD said.

The teacher grabbed the girl's arm, causing bruising, and hit the student in the left side of her face, according to police.
