Queens Teen Riding In The Back Of Motorcycle Dies After Crash: NYPD

Alyssa​ Henley died on June 19 after the 29-year-old driver of a 2002 Honda motorcycle lost control of the bike, police said.

BAYSIDE, QUEENS — A 17-year-old who was riding in the back of a motorcycle died after the bike crashed against a curb on the Cross Island Parkway on Monday, police said.

Alyssa Henley, from Bellerose, died about 12 a.m. on June 19 after the 29-year-old driver of a 2002 Honda motorcycle lost control of the vehicle and crashed near the Whitestone Expressway, authorities said.

The motorcycle driven "at an apparent high rate of speed" failed to curve on the roadway, cops said.

The 17-year-old was ejected from the motorcycle and died from severe head injuries, while the 29-year-old was taken to New York-Presbyterian Queens Hospital in stable condition, the NYPD said.

Police said the investigation remains ongoing.
