Queens Uncle Charged With Murder After Family Food Fight: NYPD, Report

Durran Morgan stands accused of fatally shooting his nephew in a fight over cooking in their Queens home, according to cops and reports.

QUEENS, NEW YORK — A Queens man accused of murdering his nephew in a heated food fight has been arrested, according to police and reports.

Durran Morgan, 38, was arrested Sunday afternoon following a double shooting in his home on Pineville Lane and Grayson Street the evening of May 27, police said.

The Daily News reports Morgan was Chevaughn Millings's uncle, and started shooting in a fight over cooking and the Queens District Attorney's office confirmed they'd had a "minor dispute."

“Time and again we are seeing petty disputes escalate to the use of deadly force,"said District Attorney Melinda Katz.

"We need to continue doing everything we can to get illegal guns off our streets to stop the senseless killings.”

Millings, 25, and a woman, 20, were both found shot about 9:15 p.m., police said. Both were rushed to Jamaica Hospital where Millings later died.

The Daily News reports Morgan turned himself in to police custody.
