The makeover will bring a new fieldhouse, restrooms and a plaza, the city said.

LONG ISLAND CITY, QUEENS — A Queens park will be given a $3.5 million facelift, the Parks Department said.

A new field house and bathroom will be coming to the park, next to Queensbridge Park, the Queensbridge Houses in Long Island City. It will be funded by the city and Councilman Jimmy van Bramer.

The old field house, which was built in 1941, will be demolished.

The project completed with the $2.5 million provided by Councilman van Bramer, in addition to the $1 million provided by Mayor Bill de Blasio. Construction will begin in the fall and the new facilities are expected to open in spring 2019.
