Family Tied Up During NYC Home Invasion, Robbers Take $15K

The NYPD are searching for two suspects in connection with the robbery.

QUEENS, NY — Police are searching for two suspects who held a family hostage and robbed them at gunpoint during a home invasion Monday morning.

The incident happened at a house near 152nd Street and 12th Avenue in Whitestone around 9:05 a.m., police said.

The two suspects apparently posed as Amazon delivery workers and forced their into the home and tied up the parents, a 42-year-old man and a 39-year-old woman, and their three other kids, in the basement, police said.

The robbers took $15,000 in cash and jewelry from a safe in the house, police said. The suspects also took the family's car and fled the scene — the car was later recovered less than a mile away.

There have been no arrests and no injuries reported from the incident.

According to police, the suspects are believed to be around 40 and 50 years old. One was dressed in a black hooded sweatshirt, and the other in an Amazon delivery vest.

An investigation remains ongoing.
