QUEENS, NY -- After a long week of work and terrible weather, you deserve to get out and have some fun. Luckily, Queens is brimming with opportunities.

If you're tired of the snow and can't afford a tropical vacation, head to Jamaica to immerse yourself in Caribbean culture with an evening of food, music and film. Speaking of food, you can also drown your cold-weather sorrows in Girl Scout cookies from the pop-up store that's coming to Forest Hills this weekend.

The Delightful Festival: Caribbean (Trinidadian) Delights

Neighborhood: Jamaica

What: Join A Better Jamaica for a free evening of ethnic cuisine, music and film. This event will feature authentic Caribbean food from Singh's Roti Shop, music by Brooklyn reggae band Tribal Legacy and a screening of the East Indian movie "Bazodee."

1914 Afternoon Tea

Neighborhood: Kew Gardens

What: Put on your fanciest gloves and garden party hats and join Friends of Maple Grove for an elegant evening of tea, high tea history and a short concert of period music by The Undertones. Prizes will be awarded for the best period costume. The event costs $30, or $25 for FGM members.

Where: Celebration Hall of the Center at Maple Grove Cemetery, 127-15 Kew Gardens Road

When: Saturday, March 10, 5-7:30 p.m.


ReelAbilities Film Festival

Neighborhood: Forest Hills

What: The 10th Annual film festival dedicated to movies made by and about people with disabilities. Join the Central Queens Y this year for screenings and discussions of "Perfectly Normal For Me," "Unstuck: An OCD Kids Movie," and other award-winning flicks.

Where: Central Queens Y, 67-09 108th St.

When: Sunday, March 11, at 10 a.m. & 1 p.m. and Monday, March 12, at noon


Girl Scout Cookie Pop-Up Store

Neighborhood: Forest Hills

What: The young ladies of Troop 4413 will temporarily take over Trylon Vet Care to satisfy all of your cookie cravings. They will manage, schedule and decorate the office while selling the tasty treats, and a table will be set up outsideas well, weather permitting. Cookies range from $4-$6 per box, but make sure to bring cash - Credit cards and checks are not accepted.

When: Sunday, March, 11, 3-6 p.m.


Taste Of The World

Neighborhood: Forest Hills

What: Taste the world on a platter at this annual local restaurant showcase and fundraiser for Our Lady Queen of Martyrs church. Tickets to the showcase, which will feature more than 30 Forest Hills eateries, are $25 in advance or $30 at the door.

When: Sunday, March 11, 2:30-5 p.m.


International Women's Day Brew

Neighborhood: Long Island City

What: Fifth Hammer brewing is celebrating ladies in beer around the world with a special collaboration brew. The brewery is drafting up a dry-hopped kettle sour, and anyone who identifies as a female in the brewing industry - or just loves beer and wants to hang out - is invited. But, safety first, visitors are asked to wear closed-toed shoes and long pants to the brewing.

Board Game Meet Up

Neighborhood: Astoria

What: Break out a board game and bring your friends to play at this free event stocked with snacks, beer and wine.

Where: Q.E.D., 27-16 23rd Ave.

When: Sunday, March 11, noon - 5 p.m.


Fused Glass Jewelry Workshop

Neighborhood: Kew Gardens

What: Make yourself or a loved one something unique at this multi-layered fused glass jewelry workshop. The class, including material, costs $25 - or $20 if you're a Friends of Maple Grove member. Email info@friendsofmaplegrove.org to reserve your spot.
