NEW YORK CITY (August 22, 2024) – The Stadium Chef Series, where fans of food and sports come together for unforgettable culinary experiences, will kick off the 2024 season with its first ever New York City-area event on Friday, September 27. Benefiting the

James Beard Foundation® and produced by Marquee Development, the dinner event will feature a selection of the city’s exceptional culinary talents crafting courses at one of its most iconic sports destinations, Citi Field.

The premier dining experience will showcase local and nominated chefs curating a once-in-a-lifetime communal feast on the ballpark’s field-level warning track, emceed by television host and food connoisseur Adam Richman, and including courses from James Beard Award Semifinalist Markus Glocker (Koloman, NYC); James Beard Award Semifinalist Preston Clark (Lure Fishbar, NYC); Aramark Senior Executive Chef Jason Eksterowicz (Citi Field); and Food Network host Anne Burrell (Anne Burrell’s Italian Eats at Citi Field). Newly revealed chefs include James Beard Award Semifinalist Camari Mick (The Musket Room and Raf’s, NYC), James Beard Award Semifinalist Greg Baxtrom (5 Acres, NYC; Olmsted and Patti Ann’s, Brooklyn) and Matt Abdoo (Pig Beach BBQ, Queens and Palm Beach).

Diners will be treated to a five-course meal paired with wine — each course designed by a different notable chef — at a picture-perfect table beneath the stadium lights, along with on-field photo opportunities and remarks from the culinary team. An exclusive pre-dinner reception for premium ticketholders in the ballpark’s Cadillac Club will feature hors d'oeuvres, signature cocktails, and the opportunity to meet the chefs in an intimate setting.

“We’re thrilled to partner with Marquee Development and the James Beard Foundation to welcome a new type of lineup to Citi Field next month: a team of New York culinary stars uniting for an evening of fine food and memory making at the home of the Mets,” said Nikki Romolo, Vice President of Events at the New York Mets. “Citi Field is a marquee destination for countless other events beyond baseball games, and we are excited to open our doors to these talented chefs and guests for a great evening of fine dining.”

In addition to creating an extraordinary tour de cuisine from local culinary notables, the Stadium Chef Series aims to build awareness, foster education, and raise funds for the James Beard Foundation’s Good Food for Good® mission.

"The Stadium Chef Series is a truly unique experience blending culinary excellence with iconic sports venues around the country—and we're especially thrilled that the kickoff event at Citi Field is debuting in our home city of New York City this year,” said Kris Moon, President and COO, James Beard Foundation. “We thank Marquee Development for their continued partnership, helping us to raise critical funds in support of America’s food culture and a more sustainable, equitable, and delicious future for all.”

The Stadium Chef Series is celebrating three years of bringing people together for unparalleled culinary experiences in historic sports destinations. Past iterations have visited Wrigley Field in Chicago, Fenway Park in Boston, and Target Field in Minneapolis. Additional participating chefs and cities for 2024 to be announced.

“The Stadium Chef Series brings together two of America’s favorite pastimes – food and sports. We’re excited to bring the series for the first time to New York, the epicenter of culinary excellence and home to the James Beard Foundation. As a Friends of James Beard partner, we are thrilled to continue to expand the event series with them, making this event impactful for good as it grows each year,” said Megan Cantwell, SVP of Marketing and Events, Marquee Development.
