- On Thursday, Mayor Eric Adams hosted his second State of the City address in Queens. During the speech, the mayor outlined a "Working People's Agenda" for New York City, in which he plans to make the city safer, cleaner, and more affordable and livable. During the event at Queens Theatre at Flushing Meadows-Corona Park, the mayor laid out his plan, which rests on four pillars: jobs, safety, housing, and care. (ABC7)
- Two MTZ heroes found a passenger's envelope filled with $8,000 on a bus. This week, while en route to the Far Rockaway Bus Depot after finishing his last stop, Alvaro Carangui received a call from his supervisor, Brenon Terrelonge, stating someone had left an envelope filled with cash on the bus. The duo swept the bus and found the envelope with the money still inside; the envelope was returned to its owner. (ABC7)
- On Tuesday, representatives of Rise Light & Power announced the acquisition of an offshore wind site to deliver power to the Ravenswood Generating Station. The acquisition comes as part of a plan to transform the plant into a clean energy hub. Rise Light & Power, which operates the station located north of the Queensboro Bridge, said the offshore site would deliver more than 1,000 megawatts of power to the plant, which currently generates around 1,800 megawatts and is mainly powered by gas. The new site will not be visible by land. (LIC Post)
