Straphanger Pepper-Sprayed By Attacker On Queens Subway, Cops Say

Police released a photo of an as-yet-unidentified attacker who they said pepper-sprayed a 61-year-old man Wednesday on an A train.

QUEENS, NY — An as-yet-unidentified attacker pepper-sprayed a 61-year-old man in the face on a Queens subway train, police said.

The Wednesday attack unfolded as an A train rolled into the Rockaway Boulevard subway station about 10:50 a.m., authorities said.

The attacker discharged pepper spray into the man's face and ran off the Manhattan-bound train, police said.

The man refused medical attention after the attack, authorities said.

Police released a photo of the suspected attacker Wednesday evening. They asked anyone with information to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or, for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
