Suspect Beats Man With Butt Of Knife On NYC Train, Police Say

The 38-year-old was transported to NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst for his injuries.

QUEENS, NY — Police are searching for a man who attacked and punched a subway rider on a Queens trains earlier this week.

The incident happened on Monday aboard a Manhattan-bound 7 train as it approached the 69th Street station in Woodside around 1:40 a.m., police said.

The suspect apparently had an outburst near the 38-year-old victim and then began to punch the subway rider.

The man then struck the 38-year-old on the head with the butt of a knife, police said.

The victim got off the train at the next stop, but the suspect stayed on.

There have been no arrests and an investigation remains ongoing.
