QUEENS, NY - A 32-year-old New York City Department of Education Employee is accused of attempting to abduct a 15-year-old girl in Queens Wednesday morning during her walk to school, authorities said.

Yogeshwar Narine was charged Wednesday with luring a child, attempted kidnapping, attempted unlawful imprisonment and attempted endangering the welfare of a child, an NYPD spokesperson said.

The teen was walking near Francis Lewis Boulevard and 113th Road about 8:20 a.m. when she was approached by Narine, who grabbed her and tried to pull her into a black SUV, police said.

The teen managed to break free and run from the area, police said. She didn’t report any physical injuries as a result of the incident.

The investigation is ongoing.
