Three-Year-Old Toddler Killed In Elmhurst: Police

QUEENS – A 3-year-old boy was killed in Elmhurst on Sunday, police reported Wednesday.

Shaquan Butler was found by officers unconscious with bruises on his body about 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 13 at 79-00 Queens Boulevard, the NYPD said.

Medics rushed the child to Elmhurst Hospital where he later died, authorities said.

The child's father Shaquan Butler, 26, was arrested on Tuesday, police reported.

The Daily News reported that the child's mother initially said that the toddler was choking on a chicken nugget when he ran into a pole and struck his head on the floor this past Sunday night.

The boy's father, who has 28 prior arrests on record, was taken Wednesday with heart palpitations to Elmhurst Hospital, according to the news outlet.
