Two Men Robbed 83-Year-Old Astoria Senior At Knifepoint: Police

They stole his phone and $20, an NYPD spokesman said.

ASTORIA, QUEENS — Police are seeking two men in relation to the robbery of an Astoria senior, according to police.

On Saturday around 6.42 p.m., two men followed an 83-year-old Astoria man in to his apartment near 21st Street and 36th Avenue. The two robbers entered the elevator along with the victim. As the elevator doors closed, one of the robbers pointed a knife at the old man and said, "Don't make a noise," while the second removed a cell phone and $20 from the man's pockets, police said. The robbers then ran away.

There were no injuries reported.

The first man is described as black and bald male with a dark complexion, who was last seen wearing black sneakers, black jeans and a dark hooded shirt.

The second man is described as a Hispanic male with a light complexion, who was last seen wearing a gray hooded jacket, skull cap, black backpack, black sneakers and blue jeans.

NYPD released surveillance footage Tuesday showing one of the robbers shortly before the incident.
