QUEENS — Residents in Queens ready to give their homes a truly festive environment shouldn’t have any trouble finding a store nearby to buy a Christmas tree.

People in the borough also have the option to get in their cars and cut the trees themselves if they want the full experience as Christmas tree growers prepare for a huge demand for the traditional green ornament.

“The real Christmas tree industry met demand last year, and it will meet demand this year,” Marsha Gray, executive director of the Real Christmas Tree Board, said in a news release. “This is essentially a year without surprises.”

Residents of Queens can mostly find Christmas trees in home improvement stores such as Home Depot or Lowe’s.
