Woman Yelling That She Hates Asians Beats Bus Passenger With Umbrella, Police Say

QUEENS — An Asian-hating woman beat a bus passenger with her umbrella while yelling racist slurs, police said.

The woman pushed the Asian-American man on the Q20 bus in Queens, then used her umbrella to hit him on the head while yelling that she hated Asians at 11:30 a.m. March 7, police said.

She got off the bus at Main Street and Kissena Boulevard, in Flushing. It's unclear why the NYPD waited three weeks before releasing details.

The victim did not seek medical attention after the incident, the police said. It's unclear what prompted the attack.

The woman was described as wearing glasses and a red baseball cap.
