LI's Frigid Temps: How Long Will They Last?
Long Islanders are in for some plunging temperatures this week.

LONG ISLAND, NY — Time to dig out the thermals and insulted gloves: Long Islanders will be hit by a steady stream of frigid days in the coming week.
According to Bill Goodman, meteorologist with the National Weather Service office in Upton, temperatures on Tuesday and Wednesday will reach highs in the 20s, with lows in the teens and single digits. Tuesday night. Cloudy skies could plunge those temperatures even lower, he said.
The cold temperatures, he said, "are not going to budge" until Thursday, when the daytime highs will be a "couple degrees on either size of freezing."
