Additional films to be announced.
The series will offer "a fun and unique environment to see a movie," with food, drinks, and of course, popcorn, available to order throughout the night," said Meg Sexton, marketing director for The Suffolk.
The series is going to be year-round with room to add additional movies each month if there is enough interest from the public, she added.
"The Suffolk is excited for film to have an ongoing presence here — this art form absolutely has a place in an arts center like this, especially given the building’s history as a movie palace," Sexton said.
And, Sexton added, a movie series helps The Suffolk serve the surrounding community by offering "a little something for everyone. With not many first-run movie theaters around this area any longer, a lot of people haven’t had the opportunity to see a lot of these films on the big screen — it’s exciting to be able to offer that experience."
Tickets will cost $15, plus applicable fees, and can be purchased online in advance, over the phone, or at the door — just like at any other movie theater.
