'No Threat' To Pulaski Street Intermediate School; Superintendent

The threat was made to a school in Georgia, she said.

RIVERHEAD, NY — Cheryl Pedisich, interim superintendent of the Riverhead Central School District, sent out a message Wednesday morning to ease fears after word spread of a potential threat.

"This morning, we were made aware of a Snapchat post that purportedly included a list of schools that had received a potential threat," Pedisich said. "A school with the name 'Pulaski' was on that list. The Town of Riverhead Police Department was immediately contacted. It was determined that the list of schools included on that Snapchat post were all schools in the state of Georgia, including an elementary school in Savannah, Georgia named Pulaski Elementary School."

She added: "Please be assured that there has been absolutely no threat to our Pulaski Street Intermediate School nor any other school in our district. Any Snapchat post, or any information you might see or hear otherwise regarding Riverhead Schools, are simply false and should not be given any credence. The safety and well-being of our students and staff is our highest priority. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact your child’s building principal or my office."
