Riverhead Firefighters Knock Down Vehicle Fire On Long Island Expressway

The fire broke out Sunday, officials say.

RIVERHEAD, NY — A fire broke out in a vehicle on the Long Island Expressway, officials said.

According to the Riverhead Volunteer Fire Department, firefighters responded to the fire, east of Exit 71, early Sunday morning.

"We quickly shut it down with no injuries reported. Thanks to our brave firefighters!" officials said.
