Riverhead Election 2025: Doroski Unseats Stark In Dramatic Legislator Race

RIVERHEAD, NY — Greg Doroski unseated his competitor, incumbent Catherine Stark, in a dramatic race for the Suffolk County Legislator, 1st District.
According to unofficial results by the Suffolk County Board of Elections, in the race for Suffolk County Legislature, 1st District, Doroski, a Democrat, as of 10:32 p.m., had garnered 11,219 votes, or 52.09 percent, compared to incumbent Republican Stark, who had 10,311, or 47.88 percent.
In a nail-biter race for Riverhead Town Supervisor, incumbent Timothy Hubbard, a Republican, had 3,870 votes, or 49.85 percent, while challenger and Democrat Jerome Halpin had 3,891 votes, or 50.12 percent.

In another close race for Riverhead town board, Mark Woolley, a Democrat, had 3,759 votes, or 25.13 percent; Kevin Shea, a Democrat, had 3,452 votes, or 23.08 percent, incumbent Bob Kern, a Republican, had 3,907 votes or 26.12 percent; and incumbent Ken Rothwell, a Republican, had 3,833 votes, or 25.63 percent.
