Accused Rapist Gets Additional Felony Charges

Efrain Rosa, 24, of Yonkers is accused of sexually assaulting a Hastings-on-Hudson teen at MacEachron Waterfront Park on April 18.

Efrain Rosa of Yonkers has been slapped with a slew of additional charges for the April 18 rape of a Hastings-on-Hudson teen at the village's MacEachron Waterfront Park.   

The 24-year-old was originally charged with criminal sexual act in the first degree, a class C felony and warned that additional charges could follow. Police announced the extra charges Thursday, which include:  

  • Attempted rape in the first degree, a class C felony
  • Criminal sexual act in the third degree, a class E felony
  • Three counts of sexual abuse in the first degree, a class D felony
  • Robbery in the third degree, a class D felony
  • Endangering the welfare of a child, a class A misdemeanor
  • Attempted rape in the third degree

The former resident of the Children’s Village school and home for at risk youth, who was employed at toy and clothing store Chelsea’s Dry Good at the time of the crime, is accused of forcing the girl into a portable toilet at MacEachron Waterfront Park around 12:10 p.m. and raping her. He then allegedly stole the victim’s cell phone and fled along the Metro North train tracks.  

His bail has been doubled to $50,000.

Hastings-on-Hudson Police Department worked collaborated with the Westchester County Intelligence Unit and the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office while working on the case.
