Charge-up, Warming Stations in the Rivertowns

Where you can warm-up and charge your electronics in the Rivertowns.

As the days get colder and Con Edison sets restoration dates for the end of next weekend in Westchester, the Rivertowns are opening facilities up to the public so they can hang out, stay warm and charge their electronic devices. 

Here’s what’s open: 

Main Street School Gym – 101 Main St., Irvington (Opens daily on Friday, Nov. 2 from 9 a.m. to 10 pm.)

  • Offers: bathrooms (no showers), heat, tables, chairs, a place to charge electronics.
  • Details: Park in the Main Street School parking lot and enter through the gym from the Ferris Street entrance. Children must be accompanied by an adult and supervised. No WiFi, or indoor sports. Bring board games! 

Embassy Community Center – 50 Palisades St., Dobbs Ferry (Thursday, Nov. 2 and Friday, Nov. 3 from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m.)

  • Offers: heat, bathrooms (no showers), TV, place to charge electronics

Dobbs Ferry Public Library - 55 Main St., Dobbs Ferry (Thursday, Nov. 2 and Friday, Nov. 3 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturday, Nov. 4 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.)

Irvington Public Library - 12 S. Astor St., Irvington (Friday, Nov. 2 and Sat. Nov. 3 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.)

  • Offers: heat, bathrooms (no showers), limited WiFi, place to charge electronics 

Hastings-on-Hudson Public Library – 7 Maple Ave., Hastings-on-Hudson (Friday, Nov. 2 until 6 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 3 from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.)

  • Offers: heat, bathrooms (no showers), limited WiFi, place to charge electronics

Andrus on Hudson – 185 Old Broadway, Hastings-on-Hudson

  • Offers: shelter with a limited number of beds available. Call police at (914) 478-2344 if you are in need of shelter (especially if you are elderly or infirm)
