She mentioned that the farmers market that she has been overseeing will be doing something very unique and special: offering those who visit the market free food. Parents of small children will also be able to get free diapers. The market is located on Manhattan Ave (next to 100 and 90 Manhattan Ave). Colby Jenkins spoke at the Greenburgh Town Board meeting on July 9th She expects the market to start offering this service every other week beginning in mid-August.

She is asking the Town Board for permission to place a shed at the Kitty Land park in back of 90 Manhattan Ave so they can store their items- table, chairs, tents and everything they need to operate the Farmer’s market.

What a great initiative. Special thanks to Senator Cousins and Assemblywoman Shimsky for helping the market with financial support from NYS so they can offer this to families – many who were not able to afford the prices at a farmers market.

I have asked the Town Board to discuss the request to allow the market to place a shed at the park and am very supportive of this request.
