Generator Causes Sparks, Smoke; Verbal Dispute on Gas Line

  • An Irvington homeowner reported a fire in the walls of his home on Nov. 4 around 12:40 a.m. The Cyrus Field resident said sparks began to shoot out of an indoor outlet where he had a generator plugged in, which began to fill the house with black smoke. The fire department responded and left the scene around 1:40 am.
  • A Guatemalan passport was found and handed into the Irvington Police Department on Nov. 6. 
  • Police were called to the scene after verbal dispute broke out between two individuals who were online for gas at the Lambrose Service Station on the morning of Nov. 5. No arrests were made.
