Gladys Fierstein of Irvington Passes Away

Gladys Fierstein, beloved wife, mother and grandmother died December 28, 2012 at Phelps Memorial Hospital in Sleepy Hollow, NY. She was 86.

She was born in Manchester, England on November 27, 1926. Her parents were Gladys Foster and Percival Arnold Helling. She met Bernard Fierstein while he served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WW II. On November 29, 2012 they celebrated their 68^th wedding anniversary.

She resided with her husband in Irvington, NY for 30 years and in Somers, NY since 1982.

Gladys is survived by her husband Bernard, two children; Larry Fierstein and Susan (Michael) Purdy and two grandchildren Melissa and Matthew Purdy. In England, she is also survived by her two cousins Betty Forbes and Joan John who were like sisters to her.

There will be a private family memorial service at a later date. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.
