Jury Finds Westchester Man Guilty Of Assaulting, Robbing 75-Year-Old Man In Alleyway
The 51-year-old Yonkers man was convicted of robbery and assault, and is scheduled for sentencing next month.

YONKERS, NY — A Westchester County jury has returned a verdict for what prosecutors described as a "despicable crime."
Westchester County District Attorney Susan Cacace announced on Thursday that 51-year-old Vladimir Puentes, of Yonkers, was convicted on several counts for robbing and assaulting an elderly man last year.
Puentes was found guilty of first-degree robbery, second-degree robbery, and second-degree assault after a 16-day jury trial. He is scheduled to be sentenced on December 9.

According to court documents, Puentes assaulted and robbed a 75-year-old Yonkers man in an alleyway off of Riverdale Avenue, near Radford Street.
After an investigation by the Yonkers Police Department, Puentes was arrested.

"As a society, we cannot tolerate predators preying on our most vulnerable community members, the elderly," DA Cacace said. "I commend the Yonkers Police Department for their quick yet thorough investigation and arrest and I thank our Assistant District Attorneys for their dedication and determination in ensuring that Vladimir Puentes is held accountable for this despicable crime."
