Arrest Made in Christmas Car Theft

A 25-year-old Yonkers resident was arrested for driving a stolen car after he was pulled over on Christmas Day at 5 a.m. for disobeying a no left turn sign when turing onto Cedar Street after traveling northbound on Broadway in Dobbs Ferry.
Marcus Mitchell was charged with criminal possession of stolen property, a fourth degree class E felony. The 2003 Nissan Altima was reported stolen in Yonkers on Christmas Eve.
He was also charged with criminal possession of stolen property in the fifth degree, a class A misdemeanor, for having an iPad that didn’t belong to him in the car. According to police, the owner of the car was not the owner of the iPad, which was valued at $800.

In addition to those charges, he recieved a traffic summones and a ticket for driving with a suspended license. Mitchell was remanded to Westchester County Jail.
