- The Irvington School District reported to police on Oct. 12 that one of the school’s football players received threatening Twitter messages after a football game against Our Lady of Lourdes High School of Poughkeepsie on Oct. 5.
“No one was in any danger and the school district took appropriate action in connection with an issue that arose in the context of athletic competition,” said Superintendent of Schools Dr. Kristopher Harrison.
No complaint was filed by the school district and the Irvington Police Department did not conduct any investigation into the incident, however the school district asked that it be documented.
- On Oct. 15 around 4:15 p.m. the principal at Irvington Middle School called to report that they had found a small plastic bag containing a suspicious powder substance. Police picked up the bag from the school and tested it several times. The substance came up negative for drugs.
