YONKERS, NY — A lockdown triggered by a disturbing incident of violence at a Westchester high school has ended, according to officials.
Yonkers police are investigating the disturbance that took place this morning at Gorton High School.
A student brought a knife into school and a dispute resulted in one person being injured, according to police. The lone student responsible is now in custody, according to police who say there is no active threat in the school.

Yonkers school district officials are in contact with the injured student’s family, and the student is currently in stable condition, according to police.
As a precautionary measure, Gorton High School remained on lockdown throughout the morning. Police said that all students were safe, but officials were not allowing families to pick up their children until the building could officially be cleared and the lockdown lifted.
