Super Bowl, Storm Forecast Prompt Limited Access To Iconic Supermarket
A "perfect storm" has Yonkers police intermittently closing roads throughout the day and asking drivers to avoid the area.

YONKERS, NY — If we weren't headed to Stew Leonard's to get snacks for the big game, then we'd probably be headed there to stock up before a hazardous winter storm rolls into our area.
Yonkers police say that this "perfect storm" means a traffic diversion is currently in place for Stew Leonard Drive for Saturday.
"Due to an abnormally high influx of traffic to the area of Stew Leonard Drive, due to the coming snowstorm and Super Bowl shopping, traffic congestion has increased to levels which may have prevented emergency vehicles from accessing the area," the Yonkers Police Department said in a traffic alert issued on Saturday afternoon. "Stew Leonard Drive will be intermittently opened and closed for the remainder of the day to ensure the safety of all shoppers. Motorists are asked to avoid the area."
