Thruway's Ardsley Service Area Reopens To The Public
Ardsley is the seventh new service area to open as part of the $450 million redevelopment and modernization of all 27 Thruway service areas.

ARDSLEY, NY — The long-closed Ardsley service area on the New York Thruway, which was being redeveloped and modernized, has reopened.
The Thruway Authority said Thursday Ardsley service area, which is on Interstate 87 northbound, mile marker 6 in Hastings-on-Hudson, is the seventh new service area to open to Thruway customers as part of the $450 million redevelopment and modernization of all 27 Thruway service areas.
The Plattekill service area in Ulster County, along with the ones in Clifton Springs, Iroquois, Indian Castle, Chittenango and Junius Ponds, has already reopened.

Other amenities include outdoor seating, a farm market space, a dog walking area and a private nursing area. At a later date, a digital tourism kiosk and four level-3 high-speed EV chargers will be available.
With the opening of the Ardsley service area, the Sloatsburg service area — I-87 northbound, mile marker 33 — will close. Fuel services remain available at all service areas during construction.
All 27 service areas are being redeveloped with Empire State Thruway Partners. The project is funded through a public-private partnership. No toll dollars or tax dollars are being used for construction.
